The farmer’s story

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less

NOW ...........

Enough of this shit . The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had  tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got  infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

My little girl is 1 ALREADY!!!!

My Lil’ Monster just turned 1 on the 19th. I can’t believe she is getting so big so fast.

We had a lovely party at the house for family and friends the Saturday after her party. I think she had a ball. I know she slept well at naptime.

Saying Goodbye to an old Friend

100_0106

Last week we had to say goodbye to a family member and send them to Heaven with Jesus.

Our dog Kelsey lived a good life and Silly Girl loved her but her time was up.

We will miss Kelsey.  I know Silly Girl misses her.  For the first few days and even the whole first week she kept asking me about her.  I just kept saying the same thing “She’s in Heaven with Jesus.”

What else can I tell her?  What else do you say to a three year old?

Awesome Summer Activity

This last Sunday at Church we had an awesome lesson about Joseph Smith, temple ordinances and doing temple work for the dead. The funny coincidence part was the day before was the ward temple trip.

While talking about the lesson our teacher brought up a fun activity that the church came up with to do with your kids or just by yourself. I liked this so much that I checked this out myself. They have it on their website as Family History Activities for Youth but there is something for everyone to do. This looks like so much fun that you can really do this any time not just in the summer. Our family, me right now, will be working on this.

I already just love researching my family. This will be so much fun.

I’m in total exasperation at the moment

The story........
Last night we came home from church so I could log on and check to see if my farm on facebook was ready to harvest. Instead what I found was a really sluggish computer that was not really doing anything. I tried again. Then I was so frustrated that I decided to try to open the Task Manager. I couldn't even get that to open up. So I decided to turn off the computer and try that one. Still nothing good worked.

And this whole time Papa Bear didn't know what was going on. He was on the sofa playing with his ipod touch.
Finally I was so mad and frustrated with the computer that Papa Bear asked what was going on. That's when he came over and tried a few things that he knew what to do. Then he looked at our computer papers. See the other frustrating part is that we bought my computer just last year, So it is just over a year old. Luckily we paid for two year service warranty for it. Finally he had to get out my old lap top (that's what I am on now). My old lap top is bare bones now and pretty slow and did I say old. Anyways Papa Bear finally got ahold of Dell and chatted with the Dell guy for around three hours trying to figure out what was going on with my computer. They were just about ready to quit for the night when the help screen they were trying to get the whole time finally came on. So Papa Bear did one more test and what that test told them was that my hard drive got corrupted and turned into a big piece of CRAP.

Do you realize how much stuff I do on the computer? And then I keep thinking about all of the stuff that I might have lost. So I am a little crazy right now trying to not think about it but am thinking about it. What I know that was on my other hard drive was all of my ipod music, my e-books, all of my email addresses (and that was a lot), all of the family emails and church emails, my whole outlook folders that had around 500 or more emails, my one note notebooks that had tons of stuff and information in it. What I'm not sure if I lost was my family history file, all 1000 give or take recipes and who knows what else.

To say that my computer was a big part of my life is probably and understatement. But on the other hand I did not lose all of my documents and pictures. A couple of years ago we bought me an external hard drive as a back up so I didn't lose everything if this did happen. So some stuff was luckily on there.

Right now my crappie hard drive is at staples trying to see if they can get my stuff off of the hard drive. So I would love to have lots of happy thoughts and good wishes and maybe even prayers to try and have them get my stuff off. They said if they send it in to get my stuff off it would cost around $1500 and that's just crazy high to me. I would much rather my info to come off easy and for cheap.
So now if you don't hear from me for awhile you will know why. Oh and by the way to top all of this off I am expecting a check and will have to pay bills soon and the church newsletter is supposed to be written soon too.

And now to end with the old question that I'm sure you've all thought about saying at some time "Why me, why did this have to happen to me?"

The reason I go Crazy……………UGH

All right so the other day I was telling you how Lil’ Monster gets into everything and likes to empty the bookshelf. I also showed you a picture of one of her small piles. Well now you can see why I go crazy………

View Krystal's masterpiece

View Full Album

The bottom two rows are almost completely empty. If you notice she left only about 5 books on the second shelf. The bottom is empty. And we even keep a child fence around the books to keep Lil’ Monster out. But as you can see this doesn’t work much. She crawls up to the fence and just pulls it out of her way to crawl right in.

When I’m in the kitchen she crawls in and goes STRAIGHT for the Ziploc bags. She even emptied one box. That is until she saw me coming and shoved them back in. But she still goes right for the box. The box is damaged beyond repair. This is just like Silly Girl all over again. I remember when we moved to this house how most of my bags didn’t even have boxes to live in anymore. UUUUGGGHH!!!

Tell me again, when does this stage stop and the new start? And Papa Bear wonders why I go crazy and want a break. Can you guess why?

Time…………Not enough in one day

All right I will make this really quick because I don’t think you really want to hear them.

#1 I would really just love to have 10 more hours or so in my day to get everything done and accomplished that needs to be done or that I want to do.

#2 I would love to have another 6 arms on my body to help me out.  Those extra arms would really be great to have when I’m home alone with Silly Girl, Lil’ Monster, The terrorizer and Baron.

#3 I am going crazy these days watching Lil’ Monster GETTING INTO EVERYTHING.  This is by far one of the baby stages that I miss the very least of all the others.  Now if you compare this to not getting any sleep they would be dead even.

021This is just a small pile off the bookshelf compared to one of her usual piles.

007

And this is the Lil’ Monster while I am trying to go through her clothes and get the right ones out.  She decided to crawl into the top drawer and rearrange her jammies for me.

#4 (And the last for now.)  I wish we had more productive time with Papa Bear while he was home.  It just seems that sometimes when Papa Bear is home the time flies by so fast and there’s not that much stuff done to show for it.

Mama Bear taught Silly Girl well

The other day I was in our little toilet room trying to have a quick private moment to myself.  Well instead of private it turned into a little girl party.  So finally I was done but our Lil’ Monster just wanted to play.  I found this on the floor when I came back into the room later: 020

And so when my Silly Girl found this she blamed it on our trouble maker dog again  and did this for me:

018 019

I wasn’t as surprised to see her put the paper in the trash as much as put a new roll on even on the way I like it.

I just have to say that’s my girl and Mama Bear’s really proud of her.  Yay!

About Mama Bear

I'm a Stay-at-Home mom, busy firefighter wife, start up rancher and computer lover. I have three wonderful, extra special kids. My sweet kids have ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism. In order for me to be able to keep up with my firefighter's schedule, the kids' activities and their special lessons I have taken up bullet journaling. I love how I can be creative and I can make it suit my needs.
